Product Safety Instructions (GPSR)
§ 1. General safety provisions (GPSR)
- This document sets out the rules for the safe use of Goods offered in the Online Shop in order to meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/988 of the European Parliament and of the Council on general product safety (GPSR).
- Before using the purchased Goods, every Customer is obliged to read these safety guidelines and strictly adhere to them.
§ 2. Safety rules - Microchips (Transponders)
- Procedure qualifications: The application of a microchip (microchipping) involves breaking the continuity of tissues. The injection procedure should be performed exclusively by a veterinarian or another person holding appropriate qualifications and training in this field. Improper application may lead to injury to the animal's body or health complications.
- Sterility and single-use: Microchips are delivered in sterile medical packaging (ethylene oxide sterilization - EO). It is forbidden to use a product whose primary packaging (blister) has been unsealed or damaged. The application syringe and needle are strictly single-use products. Reusing the applicator is strictly prohibited due to the high risk of cross-infection.
- Choking or injury hazard: Microchipping kits contain sharp elements (needle) and small parts (microchip, needle cap). They must be strictly stored in a place completely inaccessible to children and animals.
- Storage conditions: The Goods should be stored in a dry and clean place, protected from direct sunlight. The guaranteed temperature resistance for transponders is from -10°C to +80°C. Extreme deviations from these temperatures may affect the integrity of the implant coating.
§ 3. Safety rules - RFID Readers (Electronic devices)
- Intended use: Electronic readers are used exclusively for reading identification numbers from transponders operating at a frequency of 134.2 kHz (in accordance with ISO 11784/11785, FDX-B, and HDX standards). The devices must be used strictly in accordance with their intended purpose described in the manufacturer's manual.
- Electrical safety: To charge readers equipped with rechargeable batteries, use only the included USB cables and power supplies with appropriate technical parameters, bearing the CE mark (usually 5V). It is forbidden to leave the charging device unattended for a long time. In the event of damage to the charging port or cable, immediately stop using the device.
- Working environment: Electronic devices (unless they have a clear marking of an appropriate waterproof class) should be protected against flooding, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Flooding the equipment creates a risk of a short circuit and a battery fire hazard.
- Electromagnetic interference: Readers generate an electromagnetic field to excite the microchip. Caution should be exercised when using them in the immediate vicinity of highly sensitive life-saving medical devices (e.g., pacemakers).
- Servicing and repair: It is forbidden to independently dismantle, modify, and attempt to repair the devices. All technical defects, including the need to replace built-in batteries, must be commissioned to an authorized service center or a person with appropriate electrical qualifications.
§ 4. Disposal and waste management
- Medical and veterinary waste: Used needles and syringes remaining after microchip application are treated as hazardous sharp/medical waste. In accordance with applicable sanitary and epidemiological regulations, they must be strictly disposed of in specially designated, rigid containers with red markings and collected by authorized entities.
- Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE): RFID readers and their components (including internal batteries) must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. Used or permanently damaged equipment should be handed over to the appropriate selective municipal waste collection point (PSZOK) or returned to an appropriate entity dealing with the recycling of electrical equipment.
§ 5. Safety rules - Other products and accessories
- Intended use: All other Goods, including veterinary and identification accessories (e.g., reusable applicators, manual readers, tags), must be used exclusively in accordance with their primary function and the guidelines provided by the manufacturer.
- Technical condition verification: Before each use, the product should be visually inspected for visible mechanical damage (e.g., cracks, sharp edges, loose elements). Using damaged accessories in direct contact with an animal is strictly prohibited due to the risk of injury.
- Choking hazard: Products of small dimensions or having detachable, small elements should be stored in a safe place, completely inaccessible to children and pets, in order to eliminate the risk of accidental swallowing or choking.
- Maintenance and hygiene: Reusable equipment should be cleaned regularly and, in justified cases (e.g., upon contact with tissues or body fluids), subjected to appropriate disinfection. For maintenance, use agents that do not chemically react with the material from which the given Good is made.
- Prohibition of structural modifications: It is forbidden to make independent modifications, alterations, or repairs to the purchased products. Interference with the factory structure of the product creates unforeseen hazards during operation, for which the Seller is not responsible.
