7mm Nano Microchip - Precision required for the smallest patients

Looking for a way to permanently identify an animal that weighs less than a packet of sugar? A standard implant is a risk in such cases. The 7mm Nano Microchip from Bluscan solves this problem. It is the smallest RFID transponder available on the market, designed specifically for organisms where every millimetre of tissue counts.

The key here is the ultra-thin cannula (needle). Thanks to it, the injection feels like a standard vaccination, and animal stress drops to a minimum. That is why this model is the standard in professional aquaristics, herpetoculture, and for miniature dog breeds (so-called "toy breeds") such as Chihuahuas or Pomeranians (under 1.5 kg).

When to choose the Nano 7mm variant?

This size is not for everyone. Choose it if your patient or pet is:

  • Ornamental fish (e.g., Koi Carp, Arowana) - the chip is almost invisible under the scale.
  • Reptile (e.g., turtle, snake, small lizard) - safe intramuscular or subcutaneous application.
  • Small mammal - mouse, hamster, rat, ferret.
  • Toy breed dog - puppies and adults with very low body mass.

Are you a breeder or a vet? Do not overpay.

Nano chips are a specialized product, but with us, you don't have to buy them at retail prices if you run a clinic. In addition to single units, we have prepared bundles (multipacks) that optimize costs:

  • Sets of 10: Ideal for hobby breeders and smaller practices.
  • Sets of 20 (+): A B2B solution. Ensures the lowest unit cost, allowing you to maintain an attractive margin on the microchipping service.

What's in the set? Each microchip is a complete, sterile applicator (syringe) + a set of barcode stickers for medical documentation and pet passports.

FAQ - Questions your clients ask

Can all readers scan such a small chip?

Yes. Despite the miniaturization of the coil, the chip operates in the FDX-B standard. This means it can be read by any standard RFID reader compliant with ISO norms - from simple handheld models to professional gates. The read range is physically slightly smaller than in the 12mm version, but fully sufficient for quick identification.

Is it safe for fish?

Yes, this is a standard procedure in breeding valuable species (e.g., Koi). Thanks to the biocompatible Parylene C coating, the organism does not reject the implant. However, remember that the procedure should be performed by an experienced specialist.

Is this the wrong size?
Most dogs and cats need a slightly different solution. Check out our bestseller: 8mm Mini Microchip (less pain) or the classic 12mm Standard.
