FDX-B and HDX Standards - What do you need to know?
This is a key technical aspect. Most companion animals (dogs, cats) are chipped in the FDX-B standard. However, in livestock breeding (cattle, sheep, goats), electronic ear tags operating in HDX (Half Duplex) technology are often used.

HDX is a technology used mainly in ear tags for farm animals (cows, sheep) due to longer read range in difficult conditions. If you have a dog or cat - you do not need HDX. If you are a farmer or field vet - choose a professional model with HDX support.
No (due to GDPR/Privacy laws). The reader only shows the unique identification number (e.g., 900215...). To find owner details, you must enter this number into an online animal database (registry) where the animal was registered.
